Nortel Networks Corporation, formerly known as Northern Telecom Limited and now known simply as Nortel, is a multinational telecommunications equipment manufacturer headquartered in Toronto, Canada.
During 1997 and 1998 the US Telecommunications Act (deregulation of Local loop) opened new market opportunity for so called Competitive Local Exchange Carriers (CLEC). Nortel Networks engaged Emeldi consultants to assist them with establishment of Nortel Professional Services group. The mission of Nortel Professional services group was to help new CLECs with all aspects of operational launches (opportunities where Nortel provided financing for CLECs).
Emeldi consultants were engaged to deliver definition of Nortel Broadband Networks OSS/BSS Strategy for CLEC market in USA.
Our delivery included:
- Definition of the framework and methodology for Nortel’s “New Entrant Launch Tool Kit”
- Products and services for Nortel’s “Professional Services” organization.
- Establishment of Nortel’s OSS/BSS Integration Lab in Dallas, Texas
- Strategic alliances with the telecommunications industry leading solution providers and system integrators.
- Review of Bell Canada’s IP based products and services and was responsible for overall end-to-end OSS/BSS solution architecture
